001 & 002/365

001/365

Ok, my schedule is going to be messed up for a few days so I am going to start and play "catch-up" all at the same time.

This picture starts off my day 1...

No, this wasn't taken underwater.  This is my 'Grunt' photo of the day. (I grunted when I saw it)  I was playing with my camera the night before and forgot to adjust the White Balance from 'Tungsten Light' to 'Daylight'.  T'is a lovely shade of blue to be sure, just not what I was looking for in this photo.

So, off to the photo editing software to see if I could 'fix' it...

A minor increase in the White Balance Temperature, a little tweak up in Brightness, and down in Contrast and...

Lesson for the day... check settings...

Today's photo was so much bad as it was 'wrong'.  Let me explain... There is this cute little park on the bay that I go to at lunch.  I thought I was just going to take some pictures of crabs or seagulls on the shore, etc... so I took my camera, with the 18-55mm lens, and left the rest of my equipment in the car.  As I strolled up to my favorite place to sit, I saw this bird in the tree. The problem was, I couldn't get close enough to take a good picture because every time I crept closer, he moved farther away.  I was afraid that he would take off by the time I went back to the car to retrieve my telescoping lens so.... this is the best I could do...

Needles to say, I am not real happy with the results.  Enter Photo Explosion (my editting software).  A bit of a crop, and some minor brightness/contract adjustment...

Lesson for the day... remember the Boy Scout motto... always be prepared...
